1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device when you visit. They are used to remember your preferences, measure how a site is used, or enable certain features. Some cookies are set by the website you visit (first-party); others are set by services the site uses (third-party). “Similar technologies” in this policy includes local storage, session storage, and web beacons, which can serve comparable purposes.
2. Why we use cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep the Site running well and to understand how visitors interact with it. We do not use cookies for advertising, ad retargeting, or profile-based marketing. The categories and the specific tools we use are listed below.
3. Categories of cookies on this site
Strictly necessary. These cookies are required for the Site to function (for example, maintaining a session or remembering you dismissed a notice). We use them to operate the Site, and we do not ask for consent to set them because the Site will not work without them.
Analytics. These cookies help us understand how visitors use the Site, which pages are read, and which content is effective. We use Google Analytics 4 for this. Analytics cookies do not directly identify you; they produce aggregate statistics that inform how we maintain and improve the Site.
Preferences. These cookies remember choices you make (for example, a preferred language or theme). The Site currently uses very few preference cookies; if we add more, we will update this policy.
Marketing and advertising. We do not currently use marketing or advertising cookies. If we change that, we will update this policy and ask for consent before setting them.
4. Specific tools we use
Google Analytics 4 (GA4). Used to measure traffic, content performance, and general site health. GA4 collects information such as IP address (truncated where configuration allows), device and browser type, pages visited, referral source, approximate geographic region, and session duration. Data is retained according to Google’s configured retention (currently 14 months by default). Google’s privacy information: policies.google.com/privacy. You can opt out of GA4 tracking via Google’s browser add-on: tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
Scheduling and form tools. When you use scheduling links (e.g., Calendly) or form submissions, the third-party tool may set cookies on its own domain. Those cookies are governed by the third party’s own cookie policy. We currently link to third-party tools only when you initiate the action; we do not embed their cookies on our site by default.
Fonts and external assets. The Site loads fonts and some assets from Google Fonts. Google Fonts does not set cookies on your browser for ad or analytics purposes when accessed this way; see Google Fonts privacy FAQ for details.
5. Managing cookies
You can control cookies in several ways:
- Browser settings. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies, or warn before a cookie is set. Check your browser’s help documentation for instructions. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may break parts of the Site.
- Analytics opt-out. Use the Google Analytics opt-out link in section 4 above to stop GA4 from collecting data across sites that use it.
- Clear cookies. You can clear cookies at any time through your browser.
If you are visiting from a jurisdiction that requires active cookie consent, the Site will present a consent banner before setting optional cookies. Your choice is stored so you can continue browsing without being asked again. You can change your preference at any time by clearing cookies and reloading the Site.
6. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes in the tools we use or in applicable law. We will update the effective date at the top and, for material changes, note what changed.
